Riomaggiore

In Riomaggiore, the Bar Centrale, on your left as you walk up the main street, is a good place to make inquiries for accommodation.

Due Gemelli (**), Loc. Campi, 0187 92 01 11, Fax 73 13 20

A visitor reported in 1998:

I’ve been in Riomaggiore a couple of weeks ago and, following your advice, I spent four days at “Due Gemelli” with my wife.

My comment: the place is very nice, my room was comfortable and clean, with a large terrace overlooking the sea and a stunning landscape, the people there was friendly and the food was enjoyable ( especially fish and “pasta al pesto”, the local specialty).

Some more details: the hotel is 5 km outside the small town of Riomaggiore (coming from La Spezia you will find it before arriving at the town, just after a tunnel), the price for a double bedded room + breakfast (Italian style) + dinner (no lunch is provided) was 90 K Liras for each person and they allowed me to book my room by phone with no advance payment and without knowing myself at all (I suspect in Italy this is not a usual practice!)

Moreover the price above includes a daily parking ticket for the car park in Riomaggiore, very useful because you’d better leave your car there and tour the 5 Terre by train or walking.

I hope this information is useful for you and the people who’ll connect to your site !!
